Objective: to examine the importance of the purging committee known as the Comisión Depuradora de Bibliotecas del Distrito Universitario de Zaragoza (âLibrary Purification Committee of the University District of Zaragozaâ) during the Spanish Civil War (1936â1939), considering the origins of the committee, its membersâ provenance and its impact on the university libraryâs daily life and services.
Methodology: analysis of books, the press and other associated documentary sources.
Results: understanding the meaning, impact and structure of the Zaragoza Committee.
